Because the accommodation is arranged entirely on one level, it can work particularly well for guests who prefer to avoid stairs.
Inside you’ll find comfortable living space, a well-equipped kitchenette and space to dine together, along with two bedrooms and bathroom.

Lathkill is one of five cottages at Stainsborough Hall. For larger groups, all five cottages can be booked together as the Stainsborough Hall Cottage Collection, sleeping up to 23 guests with exclusive use of the communal barn.

- Individual cottages are generally released for booking around 3–4 months before arrival
- No Saturday or Sunday arrivals or departures

Lathkill Cottage is set within the grounds of Stainsborough Hall, close to Carsington Water in the Derbyshire countryside.
Guests have direct access from our land onto the traffic-free trail around Carsington Water, making it especially convenient for walking, cycling and exploring the reservoir without needing to drive first.
It also provides an excellent base for visiting Wirksworth, Matlock and Matlock Bath, Ashbourne, Dovedale, Bakewell, Chatsworth and the wider Peak District.

If you’re planning a stay for a larger group, you have a couple of options.
For groups of up to 23 guests, you can book the full Stainsborough Hall Cottage Collection, which includes all five cottages together with exclusive use of the communal barn, giving everyone their own cottage space while still providing somewhere to dine, relax and spend time together.
If you only need a little more space, you can also book one or two additional cottages alongside Lathkill and add use of the communal space for an additional charge.
Please note that the hot tub is only available when all five cottages are booked together as the Cottage Collection. This is to protect the privacy of guests staying in the other cottages.
