The cottage has a welcoming living and dining area with a well-equipped kitchen, making it an easy base for a self-catering break in the Derbyshire countryside.
Both bedrooms are upstairs. The first has a kingsize bed, while the second can be arranged as either two single beds or one kingsize bed, making Summer a good choice for couples, families or friends travelling together. The bathroom is located on the ground floor.
Set within the Stainsborough Hall Estate, Summer Cottage is close to Carsington Water, with direct access from our land onto the traffic-free trail around the reservoir.
Summer can be booked individually or alongside one or more of the neighbouring cottages, while larger groups of up to 23 guests can book all five cottages together as the Stainsborough Hall Cottage Collection.

Summer Cottage has a comfortable and practical open-plan living space, with everything you need for an easy self-catering stay.
The kitchen is fully equipped for preparing meals at the cottage, whether you are planning relaxed breakfasts, cooking in the evening or heading out to one of the many pubs and restaurants nearby.
The lounge and dining area provides a cosy place to relax together after a day exploring Carsington Water and the Peak District, with a log burner for cooler evenings.

Summer is one of five cottages at Stainsborough Hall. For larger groups, all five cottages can be booked together as the Stainsborough Hall Cottage Collection, sleeping up to 23 guests with exclusive use of the communal barn.

- Individual cottages are generally released for booking around 3–4 months before arrival
- No Saturday or Sunday arrivals or departures
- Quiet hours from midnight to 8am

- Dogs are welcome by prior arrangement
- Lead guest must be aged 25 or over

Summer Cottage is set within the grounds of Stainsborough Hall, close to Carsington Water in the Derbyshire countryside.
Guests have direct access from our land onto the traffic-free trail around Carsington Water, making it especially convenient for walking, cycling and exploring the reservoir without needing to drive first.
It also provides an excellent base for visiting Wirksworth, Matlock and Matlock Bath, Ashbourne, Dovedale, Bakewell, Chatsworth and the wider Peak District.

If you’re planning a stay for a larger group, you have a couple of options.
For groups of up to 23 guests, you can book the full Stainsborough Hall Cottage Collection, which includes all five cottages together with exclusive use of the communal barn, giving everyone their own cottage space while still providing somewhere to dine, relax and spend time together.
If you only need a little more space, you can also book one or two additional cottages alongside Lathkill and add use of the communal space for an additional charge.
Please note that the hot tub is only available when all five cottages are booked together as the Cottage Collection. This is to protect the privacy of guests staying in the other cottages.
